REFLECTIONS . . . I am cured

"I am proud to share my experience with you today because DOTS cured me. I am a Ghanaian, living in Accra. I had Tuberculosis but I am cured today because of my full acceptance to seek early treatment. TB is curable, so why should people shy away from checking their status if you suspect the symptoms.

The Global TB Candlelight Meditation which am well pleased to be one of the advocates even before the launching, will be an opportunity for me to tell my stories. I have saved peoples lives by referring them for early treatment, with the experience I had, I can easily tell who has an active TB infection before laboratory results are out. Today, I am a treatment supporter with the Chest Clinic, Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and Afro Global Alliance.

I lost my job as a Waste Disposal worker because I had TB, my neighbours confirmed that I have AIDS and even my family members but I remained strong to visit the Hospital and was just diagonised of TB. I am cured with DOTS and you will be cured too, seek early treatment. Afro Global Alliance network has made it possible for me to live again and share this experience with you.

If you allow yourself to be defeated by TB, God will never forgive you, if you love yourself people will love you. So, love yourself by checking your status if you suspect TB symptoms. Anybody can get TB and TB anywhere is TB everywhere (theme; WTBD 07). Light a candle with us on the 27th of May.

God Bless you.
