GHANA HEALTH CONFERENCE 2007 ENDS IN GRAND STYLE
The first Global Business Coalition-Corporate Africa Partnerships for prevention and cure was held in Accra 16-17 April. The conference was chaired by the President, Ghana Medical Association with the representation of all sectors.
Ms. Therese Lethu, the Director for Europe, Global Business Coalition maintained that the Coalition is willing to collaborate with the public-private mix in the fight against HIV/TB/Malaria and other related diseases. In a discussion with Chief Austin A. Obiefuna and Dr. Nicholas de Heer all from Stop TB Ghana, she maintained that the coalition is looking forth to help in facilitating the acquisition of Mobile Laboratories to operate in the rural communities where accessibility problems are prominent.
However, Dr. Clemence Bare, Director of the UGP, Partners Against Aids, promised to give technical support during the Stop TB Ghana consultations for assistance and capacity building.
